Embodiment Practice
The series "Embodiment Practice" was inspired by listening to the song "Alone in Kyoto" by Air for days on repeat, being connected to japanese minimalism and the spiritual practice "Embodiment Practice", that's meant to free emotions,feelings stored in the body through somatic movement.
The Belief
Religion as a symbol of Ambivalence and Spirituality. The uniform, the hypocrisy of serving god and the reality of male domination and misuse of power and money.
Yet I am as an artist deeply connected to spirituality and there is no better symbol than rleigion to carry an image from the glaze to the depths,
The Color Blue
Blue- the color of gentle directness, clarity and elegance. While in the same time the saying “feeling blue” indicates a sadness of current circumstance, the blue collar a person of working status, while lbue blood is a sign of social relevance. Blue- A collar that is so calm, yet so full of contradictions.
Marriage Years
The series "Scenes of a Marriage" carries the aesthetic of old paintings. I made it a point to only use material from the 20th Century: non-fiction books, lexica and magazines. I wanted to explore how humans where relating and their ideas of realtionships. The more rough scenery was a metaphor for the post-war/ war generation. In the works "Dünenhochzeit" and Marriage Grove" I specifically explored the meaning of marriage.
The strong woman
The strong woman, who fights herself through the abyss, who marches forward despite obstacles in the size of hercules. A story about softness, strength and the raw nature of a woman in her surroundings.
Lush Politicans
The economy decides over the spreading of resources the worth of a human life depending on the poart of the world, this human has been born.
In times of bavaria (Germany) becoming more anti-immigrants, and politicans openly trying to create a false sense of traditionalism, these two collages have been born. Between lush greens the stupidity and reality of power.
Social Engagement
The series "Social Engagement" started through an introspection of our social interactions and a critical eye on action, engagement and compassion.
From friends to rivals, from peace to war.
As much as we wanna be the golden samariter, more often than not, we are that unity of fragmented souls trying between ideal interaction and real interaction.
Space Oddity
A woman connected to space, the surreal and odd space activities from the matrix eye. Beaming herself to the light, the stars and the supernatural, while being a fragmented human.
A Pleasure
"It's a pleasure"- a woman's pleasure. Placed into the vatican, a woman takes center stage in a typical male-dominated environment of privilege. Not just takes the woman all the viewers eyes on her, but she is bare and strong , not trying to be liked by another- She's not trying to be an image of her gender, she's herself and she looks after her pleasure. A silent provocation as a woman's pleasure has no hold in the catholic church or religious writing.
